Course Description:

  • Pre-learning questionnaire: You complete an online survey before you begin.
  • Animation: Watch an animated short film (11 minutes) that shows a day at primary school for the autistic character, The Girl With The Curly Hair.
  • Analyses: Read a detailed analysis on each scene in the film that discusses each learning point highlighted in the animation.
  • Your own ideas: Think about what you might add to each learning point that has been discussed.
  • Quizzes: Answer questions to check your understanding along the way.
  • Certificate of completion: Download and print a certificate for your CV or learning development.

The other children are chatting happily about TV programmes and music. The Girl With The Curly Hair is preoccupied about being late for school.

The supply teacher is unaware how to adapt her communication to support The Girl With The Curly Hair.

The fire alarm goes off and the class has to go outside into the playground.

The Girl With The Curly Hair doesn’t know how to join in with her classmates’ skipping game.

The Girl With The Curly Hair is confused when the art teacher asks the class to, “Draw anything from your imagination.”

The Girl With The Curly Hair is worried that there won’t be a jacket potato with cheese available for lunch.

The class is going to learn the names of the planets. However, The Girl With The Curly Hair knows the names of the planets already.

The Girl With The Curly Hair worries that her Mum won’t be waiting for her in exactly the ‘right’ place in the playground.

The Girl With The Curly Hair feels exhausted. She can’t understand why her sister still has so much energy and wants to see her friends.
