Most individuals with ASD are just like everybody else, in the sense that, we just want to be liked. Some people are more extroverted, some are more introverted, but this statement applies to both personality types. Most human beings (with ASD or without ASD) have an innate desire to connect with others, i.e. we want to have friends. The great paradox of autism is that, we want friends, we feel lonely a lot of the time yet, when we do have friends, we can’t quite manage them.
