The Line Theory

Posted by: alisrowe, February 20, 2015

Another way of describing rigidity in thinking and behaviour of people with ASD is using the Line Theory. As individuals, we have complete control over our thoughts and behaviour. In a sense, that means we can live our lives how we want to. Have you ever played the computer game, The Sims? This sort of represents what I am writing about right now. When I think about what life is like for me (ASD), and compare it to some neurotypical people, if I want to explain a bit about ASD to them, I find using lines as an analogy quite helpful.
