Course Description:

  • Animation: As a class, watch an animated short film (11 minutes) that shows a day at primary school for the autistic character, The Girl With The Curly Hair.
  • Presentation: Listen to a presentation that discusses each learning point highlighted in the animation.
  • PDF of Presentation: If you prefer, you can use the presentation notes instead. This might be useful if you wish to talk through the written notes with the class.
  • Workbook: Each child has use of the workbook which they can fill in as they go through the course.
  • Quizzes: As a class, answer fun visual questions about the film.
  • Certificate of completion: Download and print a certificate to say that the class has completed the course.

This course is either going to be run by the child themselves or the teacher leading a whole class.

The Girl With The Curly Hair’s box of cereal is empty.

The other children are chatting happily about TV programmes and music. The Girl With The Curly Hair is worried about being late for school.

The Girl With The Curly Hair has trouble working out what the supply teacher is trying to say.

The fire alarm goes off and the class has to go outside into the playground.

The Girl With The Curly Hair doesn’t know how to join in with her classmates’ skipping game.

The Girl With The Curly Hair is confused when the art teacher asks the class to, “Draw anything from your imagination.”

The Girl With The Curly Hair is worried that there won’t be a jacket potato with cheese available for lunch.

The class is going to learn the names of the planets. However, The Girl With The Curly Hair knows the names of the planets already.

The Girl With The Curly Hair worries that her Mum won’t be waiting for her in exactly the ‘right’ place in the playground.

The Girl With The Curly Hair feels exhausted. She can’t understand why her sister still has so much energy and wants to see her friends.
