Hello, my name is Gerry and I am thrilled and excited to be part of the CHP team.
My career started with me working for the Civil Service for 17 years, however, I realised I was ready to challenge myself so decided to study for a degree aged 34, late in life but realising that I wanted a more fulfilling career.
For the past 19 years I have worked in Education and my focus was working with disadvantaged young people and helping them to identify their strengths and reach their full potential through a informal and specific strategy. I worked across Wales with over 80 schools and organisations working with SENCOs and other key support staff, identifying what worked for each young person and what strategies we could put in place to help young people achieve their goals. This was an incredibly rewarding career and one which I feel fits in perfectly with the passion and enthusiasm of the CHP, the aims and objectives and the fun and unique way of helping people.
I was first told about the CHP through a friend and one look at the website and the feedback from people made me realise that this was something I really wanted to be part of.
I believe there is huge potential for the CHP in Wales and I am really looking forward to contacting the many organisations and schools in the Country, getting the sessions and workshops set up and getting this exciting project established Wales wide.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and we all enjoy trips to the cinema and walks in the Welsh countryside.
