I have been working with individuals with ASD for the past decade in a variety of different roles and settings. I have worked for two Autism charities as a Support worker and Play worker, in mainstream and SEN schools (as a specialist teaching assistant), and I have been involved in the facilitation of several therapeutic arts projects.
Most recently I was employed as a Specialist Learning Support (Autism Specialist) for a London local authority (working within the Education department). I have had significant experience of ASD in my personal life which has shaped me as a person in an invaluable way. I am very passionate about working in the field of special needs, diversity and inclusion.
Aside from CHP, I work as a mindfulness teacher for adolescents with emotional, behavioual and social difficulties. I am also training as a Person-Centred counsellor. My hobbies include: cold water swimming, wild swimming (all swimming!), ceramics, and being in nature.
